Catholic Charities of Fort Worth

Non-Profit Benefits from Network and Phone Upgrades

Catholic Charities Fort Worth (CCFW) is is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1910 with the mission to meet the needs of children, families, elderly, refugees, and immigrants in the diocese of Fort Worth, regardless of creed, race, ethnicity, or culture. In 2018, Catholic Charities Fort Worth served over 100,000 individuals and families in need, using more than 90 cents out of every dollar donated to directly provide services through over 40 programs.

Wireless Paging Systems for Subsidized Apartments

c2mtech’s relationship with Catholic Charities Fort Worth (CCFW) started in 2009. The Diocese of Fort Worth was constructing low-income housing for seniors, the disabled and handicapped. Fort Worth was beginning to become unaffordable and this new apartment complex on the west side would serve those in need.

Our technicians were tasked with designing wireless infrastructure for emergency alert systems from TekTone. Hundreds of smoke alarms and nurse paging transmitters were connected in each unit. After installation, our team trained administration and service workers on successful operation.

Network Overhaul for Fort Worth Headquarters

Our relationship with CCFW continued in 2014 with the opening of the main headquarters on Thornhill Drive. A replacement of a network firewall prevented VPNs and digital phone systems from functioning. After addressing the phone emergency, c2mtech conducted a comprehensive network audit which set a roadmap for all network equipment, compliance checks and issues.

As recommended, digital phone systems were installed and connected via SIP Trunking for IP or on-premise voice communication. Cabling was upgraded to Category 5e for faster connections and to handle additional employees.

Prior to the network audit, office staff were experiencing slow internet speeds and frequent timeouts. A new domain server and disk setup were installed and the network firewall had a firmware update.

Migration to Mitel Cloud

Several years after the network upgrades and hybrid phone system installation, Catholic Charities was looking to move fully to the cloud. New employees were joining the organization and CCFW was looking to save money on phone service bills for the long-term. Together with our partner Mitel, c2mtech helped transition the Fort Worth and Wichita Falls phone systems on a slow day. New USB headsets were provided, and support and training allowed for CCFW’s customer service to continue.
